FLAMINGO AND CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

FLAMINGO, RESPONSIBLE JEWELLER

Since 1976, Flamingo SA has embodied a tradition of excellence. A tradition that has become a duty. This duty of excellence in our creations, the know-how and quality of our service are also extendable to the way we conduct our activities – ethically, socially, and environmentally.

Passed down from generation to generation, Flamingo creations are designed to be timeless. Each creation represents a moment, an event, a story, an emotion. For this reason, all our activities – from the purchase of materials to the manufacture in the factory and to the sale in the stores – must correspond to the level of trust that our customers place in us.

At Flamingo, we believe that sustainability makes our business stronger, underpinning everything we do.

Product

In the last years, the basis of Flamingo´s production are raw precious metals almost 100% from recycled sources.

Crafting with Integrity

At Flamingo SA, craftsmanship jewellery means embedding social and environmental integrity throughout the manufacturing process—from sourcing our raw materials, to cutting and polishing, to crafting our jewellery. Today, we craft the majority of our jewellery products in our factory and facilities, providing a workplace code conduct that not only achieves decent and humane working conditions consistent with the Authority for Working Conditions (ACT), but also ensures responsibility for the environment.

By bringing jewellery manufacturing within the walls of our Company, Flamingo set an important precedent that has allowed us to maintain our high standards throughout the production process.

We also strive to contribute in positive ways to the communities and local economies in which we operate by creating jobs, training, and promoting workers. By operating in our own facilities, Flamingo is also able to ensure its jewellery is crafted in a safe and healthy workplace.

All Flamingo jewellery meets the certification and warranty standards of first-rate precious metals. This is evident in the parts of physical form through the contrasts established in the Portuguese regulations on objects manufactured with precious metals: Source ID Contrast and Warranty Contrast.

Health & Safety

We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment to prevent workplace accidents and injuries. The satisfaction that each employee goes home to their loved ones each day, free from accident or injury, is of the utmost importance to Flamingo and its management team.  Each team member is responsible and encouraged, to identify potential hazards that may cause any type of accident or injury.

Environmental Impact

In addition to employee safety, we are committed to the protection of the environment. This includes supporting initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility as well as complying with applicable laws and regulations concerning the environment. In keeping with these commitments, we will:

* operate our business in a way that is environmentally conscious and responsible

* take measures to reduce our environmental footprint by eliminating and minimizing negative impacts to the environment

* manage our use of resources and energy as efficiently as possible

* adopt practices that promote Biodiversity and reduce adverse effects on Biodiversity

The jewellery industry uses metals and other minerals for a wide variety of purposes, and it is, therefore, in our company’s best interest to ensure that our jewellery, that is produced using those metals, is produced in environmentally and socially responsible ways.
